Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival 2008 was featured on BBC TV programme 'Countryfile'. The theme of Lanterns and Legends also included a re-enactment of a large lantern cow jumping over the Moon with wonderful fireworks from Paboom. Visiting storytellers Taffy Thomas MBE, Mike Forbes, and Rachel Rose-Reid (young storyteller of the year) performed during the festival week in a variety of venues around the village.
