EcCo World Music Choir

We are now in the final stage EcCo – are a group of young people from the Colne Valley aged from 16 – 18 years old who meet weekly to learn songs from different cultures to perform helped musically by Gill. The group was born out of our Sing Global project and is now self-governed and run by the young people in the group. EcCo’s aims are to:

raise awareness of world issues through song
promote young people in a positive light to all members of the community
raise money for good causes
create multi-cultural links through music

From April we will be working on Freedom Train – Songs for Change a programme of workshop sessions and community performances. The songs will be drawn from different world cultures and come from the struggle to bring people freedom and justice in times of conflict.
