SING! GLOBAL NEWS

SING!GLOBAL session this week really got to grips with Kancho, a song from Ghana collected by Pauline Downs. As the choir gets gets more secure with the words and harmonies the spirit of the song starts to shine through. We'll add percussion next week to make it swing. If you own some claves or a wood block bring 'em in.

Next week we're going Jamaican. Don't forget to add your favourite Bob Marley song to the blog.
Will we be JAMMIN'? G

Gill's Diary

The start of another week, action packed as usual. Last night we had a Burton-Bond family trip to Salsaceltica gig in Saltaire - a fanatastic fusion of sounds you can't help but dance, very inspiring. It set us up nicely for the week ahead.

Thankyou to all those people browsing the site and emailing your comments. It's great to hear that everyone so far likes what they are seeing and reading and feel that it reflects Satellite Arts well. Why don't you have a go at adding comments on the blog.

Up and coming this week is :
Andy and Eddie being recorded by Conrad Lambert playing fiddle duet of Westmorland Waltz for his up and coming Merz CD. (Shades of Ry Cooder in Cuba me thinks!)

Me and Karima working hard trying to get our major funding bid to the Family Learning Fund for Moonraking Festival 2008 in the post by the end of the week.

We are having a big marketing push on Tale Traders, so book asap to avoid diappointment! Also have another website session with Tim, so watch this space!

Andy is devising new stories for the Magic Postman Show that is going out to Salford and on Friday Xylosound will be putting finishing touches to their programme for their gig at Salendine Nook on March 31st

Gill's Diary.

We've had a very intense afternoon working with the wonderful Tim Copsey from MPTE Design to put our website live to the world, and we're dead chuffed with it. It's wonderful that at last we have captured the range of work that we do and can display it in a way that reflects our ethos. We've just got to get it out there now. Anyway if you are looking at this having taken a tour of the site please post up your comments. We are really keen to get opinions on what you think and whether you think it 'works' on all levels!

HELLO FROM ANDY AND GILL
